“The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is to sing loud so that all can hear” – Buddy the Elf
It’s that time of year where everyone is busting out their favorite cookie recipe and spreading joy all around. And although this year may look different, it doesn’t have to stop you from baking! My mom has been making these every season ever since I can remember. It’s definitely not Christmas in my family without them! Not only are they absolutely delicious, they are so easy to make!
1 C Butter, softened
1 C Light Brown Sugar, packed
2 C Flour ( I use Gluten Free)
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla
1 Egg Yolk
6 Hershey Chocolate Bars
1/4 C Walnuts, chopped
Preheat oven to 400
In a large mixing bowl mix butter, sugar, salt, egg yolk, and vanilla until combined
Slowly add in flour and mix until well incorporated (The batter will be a stiff dough)
Press dough into a standard size (18×13) ungreased cookie sheet until as even as possible
Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown
Carefully remove from oven and immediately place the chocolate squares on top
Spread chocolate carefully and top with walnuts
Let cool for 15 minutes or until chocolate has cooled and set
Cut into squares and enjoy!

Great recipe for company! Thanks for the Gfree hint!
